When Gavin was 8 years old he learned to play the Clarinet and his interest in music began.He then taught himself to play the Guitar and started to learn the Drums aged 16 Malcolm Garrett was his drum teacher. Fuelled by his father's love of the drums (Malcolm Davies, founder of the Starliners in the 1960s) he began to play with some local bands.
During this time he also started writing his own Songs and experimenting with multitrack recording. Gavin played drums for, Caught In The Act, The Groove Tubes, Rim Shot Rhythm and Geri Minelli at Ronnie Scott's Birmingham, to name a few. Gavin then turned to Musical theatre taking on principle roles in Cabaret, Anything Goes, How to succeed in Business without really trying etc. Gavin also sang with The Steve King Big Band at the Crescent Theatre to raise money for the Birmingham Children's Hospital, and then he joined the Brian Newton Big Band. In 2008 he started singing with the Four Oaks Big Band.
Gavin has joined forces with Chris Garfield and Sarah Riches to form "Audio Kings".
